Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja said the Internal Security Organisation would help verify which traders in flood-hit Kampala arcades are eligible for compensation, The Independent reports. She said figures had conflicted: KCCA listed 460 traders, while trader leaders gave 2,000 and later 1,600, and the report adds that arcade owners later gave 360. The announcement followed threats of a strike by Kampala City Traders Association leaders over delayed compensation.
Disputed: The numbers of affected traders differ: KCCA gives 460, trader leaders gave 2,000 and then 1,600, and arcade owners gave 360.
