Policy & Legislation Single source Kampala 14 Sep 2026 Severity: 1/5

Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja told leaders of the Federation of Uganda Traders Associations that payments from the Shs20 billion presidential pledge to traders affected by the October 2025 Kampala floods would begin after a final verification within two weeks. She said an ISO-led verification had reduced the list to 737 traders from more than 2,000 claimants, and directed that the names be displayed at the affected buildings for public scrutiny. Nabbanja and State Minister Minsa Kabanda rejected allegations that they had withheld or misappropriated the money.
