Police acknowledge officers' errors in clashes and deaths on NUP campaign trail

At a joint press briefing on election management in Kampala, ACP Dina Kyasimire, representing the Inspector General of Police, said some violent clashes and fatalities on campaign trails resulted from mistakes by security personnel and were being investigated. She said cases of brutality and fatal shootings are handled internally and attributed many confrontations to candidates allegedly using unapproved routes, citing incidents in Arua and Iganga.
