Civic Space & Media Freedom Verified Kampala 13 Sep 2026 Severity: 2/5

Kampala Metropolitan Police said they arrested Corporal Fatina Mukolerwa of the Child and Family Protection Unit for 'scandalous behavior' after a viral video in which she questioned her superiors' decision to release a domestic violence suspect on police bond. Deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire said officers must raise concerns through administrative channels rather than on social media, and that both the officer's conduct and the underlying arrest remain under investigation.
