Police cordon PFF headquarters in Nakasero, blocking procession to deliver petition to Chief Justice

Security officers including the Field Force Unit and anti-riot police cordoned off the road to the People's Front for Freedom headquarters on Katonga Road, Nakasero, stopping a planned procession to petition Chief Justice Flavian Zeija for the release of Kizza Besigye and Erias Lukwago on medical grounds. PFF said it had notified police and called the deployment a violation of constitutional freedoms. Police deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire said the deployment followed intelligence of possible illegal activity and that the party lacked clearance from the IGP.
