In a statement, Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire rejected a tweet alleging that police assaulted NBS TV journalist Francis Isano while he covered the burial of Pastor Augustine Yiga in Kawaala. Police said a colleague of the journalist told them he was attacked by a youth gang robbing mourners, and that a later operation led to arrests of members of the group; police said they had not yet recorded Isano's own statement.
Disputed: Journalist Francis Isano is reported to have been assaulted by police officers; police deny their officers assaulted him.
