Police fire tear gas to disperse NUP supporters at Kayunga District tally centre

Police used tear gas to disperse hundreds of NUP supporters gathered outside the Kayunga District tally centre, who were demanding that Harriet Nakwedde be declared District Woman MP and Robert Kyagulanyi presidential winner. According to URN, army personnel were also deployed and reportedly used batons. The district Returning Officer said tallying was still ongoing and results would be declared in accordance with the law.
