Luweero District chairperson Erustus Kibirango answered a summons from Savannah Region CID and recorded a statement in an investigation into alleged use of his official vehicle in Robert Kyagulanyi's campaign procession through Luweero and Nakasongola on 10 October 2025. Police said the vehicle was impounded under investigation for alleged breach of the Presidential Elections Act's ban on using public resources for partisan activity. Kibirango, an NUP member, told the Daily Monitor he used the car to help keep order as a member of the district security committee and called the case a possible witch-hunt.
Disputed: Police say the government vehicle was part of a partisan political procession, while Kibirango says he used it to maintain order as a district security committee member and not for campaigning.
