Residents allege selective enforcement in UPDF-led eviction of Balaalo herders from Maruzi Ranch, Apac

The Daily Monitor reports that the UPDF and the Apac District security committee are jointly evicting Balaalo herdsmen from Maruzi Ranch, with local leaders saying more than 1,000 cattle have been removed. Residents allege that cattle of powerful people remain on the ranch and that some herders are hiding cattle in community kraals, and an LC5 councillor said leaders had received such complaints. Deputy RDC Richard Tabaro blamed local leaders for not taking an active part in the operation.
