Returning officer declares NUP's Erias Nalukoola winner of Kawempe North seat

The Kampala District Returning Officer, Rashid Hashakya, declared NUP candidate Erias Nalukoola winner of the Kawempe North parliamentary seat with more than 34,000 votes, ahead of NRM's Faridah Nambi with about 8,900, according to URN. The report says both candidates accused each other of vote rigging during tallying and that security was increased as supporters traded threats.
