Security authorities ban sale of alcohol in Ryakarimira town council on Uganda-Rwanda border, Kabale

Security authorities banned the sale of alcohol along the Uganda-Rwanda border in Ryakarimira town council, Ndorwa West County, days after a fatal shooting by Rwandan security near the border. Kigezi Region Police Commander Dan Byaruhanga said Rwandan nationals continued to cross into Uganda to buy and drink local waragi despite Rwanda's border closure. Local bar owners said the order hurt their business and that Rwandans also crossed to buy food.
