Security forces fire tear gas and live bullets after residents reject LC1 result in Jinja Kawempe A Cell

According to URN, residents of Jinja Kawempe A Cell rejected the Electoral Commission's declaration of NRM candidate Richard Kisekka as LC1 winner, saying the queue behind incumbent Hussein Ssegujja had appeared far longer; some also said they were denied a chance to vote. Police evacuated the EC officials as security personnel fired tear gas and live ammunition, while some residents threw stones and tried to block police vehicles.
