The Observer reports that after the ruling in the Besigye treason case, Mariam Obeid Lutale, a daughter of the second accused and a parliamentary aspirant for Lubaga North, ran towards the judge shouting, and counter-terrorism police and prison officers restrained her and dragged her from the courtroom. She was later detained at Kampala Central Police Station; defence lawyer Martha Karua asked the court for her release.
