Security operatives arrest Stephen Nuwagaba Rubaramira in Busega, Kampala; offences not announced

Security operatives intercepted and arrested Stephen Nuwagaba Rubaramira in Busega, Kampala, while he travelled in a motorcade guarded by Special Forces Command personnel, ChimpReports reported. Security sources told the outlet that the arrest was ordered by CDF Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba and that he was being held at an undisclosed security facility; authorities had not stated any charges. The arrest follows a January 2026 'concerned citizen' report to the President making allegations about his identity documents and conduct, which ChimpReports says it could not verify.
