Sembabule NRM chairperson Katirima expels two committee members running as independents

According to the Nile Post, Sembabule District NRM chairperson Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Phinehas Katirima announced at a mobilisation meeting in Mawogola South that two district committee members had been expelled and their posts declared vacant. He accused them of backing independent candidacies and falsely claiming endorsement by him and Sam Kutesa. The two, Denis Ddumba and Mary Begumisa, called the action politically motivated and said they would continue campaigning.
