Soldiers withdraw from Nation Media Group Uganda premises in Namuwongo and Serena after month-long occupation

The Observer reports that military personnel left NMG Uganda's Namuwongo headquarters and Serena studios, which they had occupied since 28 June, even after the company was cleared to resume operations. A reporter found no visible military presence and staff said the soldiers left in the morning, and NMG management confirmed the withdrawal in an internal message. Management told staff not to return until internal security checks were complete, and television broadcasts and the printed newspaper had not yet resumed.
