Three agents of Rukiga LC5 chairperson-elect charged over election-day assault, granted bail

Three agents of Rukiga LC5 Chairperson-elect Simon Mutebi Rwamagyenda, including his father, were charged at the Rukiga Grade One Magistrate's Court with causing grievous harm and malicious damage to property, according to ChimpReports. They pleaded not guilty and Magistrate Julius Mutabazi granted each non-cash bail of Shs10 million, citing the absence of a State Attorney. The case was adjourned to 19 May 2026.
