Trade Minister presents revised National Trade Policy and export strategy at Munyonyo trade review conference

Trade, Industry and Cooperatives Minister Francis Mwebesa told a two-day National Trade Review Conference in Munyonyo that the government is revising the National Trade Policy and the National Export Development Strategy (NEDS). According to The Independent, the revised framework prioritises value addition, export diversification, compliance with international standards, digital trade and the integration of small businesses into value chains. State Minister Wilson Mbasu Mbadi said the government is working to cut electricity costs for manufacturers and ease access to financing through the Uganda Development Bank.
