Civic Space & Media Freedom Single source Kampala 19 Nov 2020 Severity: 1/5

Uganda Law Society president Pheona Wall told journalists in Kampala that the society had formed a task force of 20 senior legal officers to gather evidence and pursue prosecution of those who violated human rights during the protests that followed the arrests of Robert Kyagulanyi and Patrick Amuriat. She said the investigation would cover both security personnel accused of excessive force and civilians who turned violent, and the society called on the Electoral Commission and police to meet presidential candidates to agree on how to campaign without violence.
