Vice President Jessica Alupo declared unopposed as Katakwi District Woman MP after rival withdraws

According to Nile Post, the Katakwi District Returning Officer, Stephen Makubuya, declared Vice President Jessica Alupo the duly elected Woman MP for Katakwi District at the district Electoral Commission office. He said this followed the written withdrawal that afternoon of the only other nominated candidate, Angela Anuken, citing Sections 36 and 37 of the Parliamentary Elections Act.
