Voters beaten and ballots seized at Kisenyi polling stations, Kampala

Electoral Malpractice Verified Kampala 15 Jan 2026 Severity: 3/5

The Daily Monitor reports that a group of youths moved between polling stations in Kisenyi, beating and threatening voters thought not to support NRM candidates, while witnesses said security personnel did not intervene. At Muzana and a neighbouring station, men reportedly took voters' ballot papers, marked them for NRM candidates and cast them; opposition agents were reportedly chased away before signing declaration forms.
