Woman alleges bribe demands and botched delivery at Kikuube Health Centre IV

A 33-year-old mother told the Daily Monitor that staff at Kikuube Health Centre IV, a government facility, demanded Shs200,000 and an intern doctor later Shs50,000 before assisting her delivery, which she says was mishandled, leading to the death of her newborn and the removal of her uterus. The matter was reported to police after senior doctors recognised the negligence, and the woman says she has since received death threats and fled the district.
