Assaults and torn voters register at Buhamuna LC1 polling station, Busia

During LC1 voting at Buhamuna village, the voters register was reportedly grabbed from the presiding officer and torn up, and several people said they were assaulted, according to The Independent (URN). Incumbent LC1 chairperson and NRM candidate Godfrey Budaha alleged that his opponent's supporters stormed the polling station and that he was injured in the face; Buhehe sub-county community development officer Sylvester Offiti said he was hit on the head with a stick when he tried to intervene. Another person said the chaos began when supporters of independent candidates found their names missing from the register.
