Bududa landslide survivors' case against government revived at Mbale High Court

Justice & Court Rulings Single source Mbale 23 Oct 2025 Severity: 1/5

Forty-eight claimants who survived the December 2019 Bududa landslide returned to the Mbale High Court in their case against the government, which had been stalled for nearly five years by a procedural technicality. The claimants, supported by Greenwatch, argue that the government failed to set up effective disaster management systems, and they are seeking compensation and early warning systems in high-risk areas.
