Speaker Oboth-Oboth leaves imbalu launch in Mbale City early after dancers storm VIP section

According to the Daily Monitor, traditional circumcision dancers escorting candidates broke through the VIP section at Mutoto Cultural Ground and charged towards Speaker Jacob Oboth-Oboth as he read the President's speech, and his security took him away. The organising committee secretary blamed delays and the chief guest's late arrival, and a division mayor said the platform stood on the candidates' traditional pathway. The paper says this year's event was run by district chairpersons because of rival claims to cultural leadership.
