Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom premier Andrew Byakutaga told URN that the kingdom never signed any memorandum of understanding allowing anyone to cut trees in Bugoma central forest reserve or on adjacent kingdom land. He said the only MoU it signed allowed Hoima Sugar Limited to grow sugarcane on the kingdom's ancestral land, and asked government to speed up opening the forest reserve boundaries.
