According to the Daily Monitor, NUP's Kasese LCV flag bearer Gad Mbayahi Baluku Bakwanamaha was not nominated on the last nomination day after the returning officer said some of his supporters' signatures had not been verified. The candidate alleged the rejection was intentional and politically influenced, while NUP officials blamed the Electoral Commission for slow systems and too little time.
