Electoral Commission cancels nomination of NRM candidate for Njumaga Cell chairperson in Masaka City

The Electoral Commission cancelled the nomination of NRM candidate Augustine Mukasa Luswata for Njumaga Cell Chairperson in Katwadde Ward, Masaka City, according to a decision communicated by the Masaka City Returning Officer, Joloba Hydary. The returning officer said Luswata was nominated in error because he is still employed by the Uganda Prisons Service and had not left public service. The decision followed a petition by the incumbent, NUP candidate Pellegrino Bikanyulo, who is now the only candidate.
