Masaka High Court grants bail to Eddie Mutwe and three other Bobi Wine bodyguards in Lwengo case

Judge Victoria Nakintu Katamba of the High Court in Masaka granted Shs5 million cash bail each to Edward Ssebuufu (Eddie Mutwe), Achilleo Kivumbi, Mugumya Gaddafi and Grace Wakabi, bodyguards of NUP president Robert Kyagulanyi, who face aggravated robbery, assault and robbery charges over an alleged attack on two journalists in Lwengo District in May 2024. According to defence counsel Samuel Muyizi, the court recognised their right to a speedy trial; Eddie Mutwe and Kivumbi remain in detention over separate charges pending elsewhere.
