Electoral Commission disqualifies NUP candidate Gibson Amanya in Kibale County after petition

According to returning officer George William Magezi, the Electoral Commission disqualified NUP candidate Gibson Amanya for Kibale County after two people petitioned that their nomination signatures had been obtained by deception. The decision left the NRM flag bearer unopposed, and The Independent reports that Amanya has gone to court to challenge it.
