FDC candidate Nandala Mafabi rejects 2026 presidential results and calls for EC resignation at Mbale press conference

At a press conference in Mbale City, FDC presidential candidate Nathan Nandala Mafabi said the party rejects the results of the 15 January 2026 elections, according to The Independent. He alleged ballot stuffing, falsification of results and voter disenfranchisement linked to faulty biometric machines and the internet shutdown, and called for the Electoral Commission led by Justice Simon Byabakama to resign and be reconstituted. He said FDC would support candidates who file election petitions.
