High Court in Rukungiri dismisses petition against Kinkizi County West MP James Ruugi Kaberuka

Justice Richard Wejuli Wabwire of the High Court in Rukungiri dismissed Victor Rushokora's petition challenging James Ruugi Kaberuka's election as MP for Kinkizi County West, ChimpReports reports. Rushokora had alleged irregularities in Kaberuka's nomination, including too few supporters and forged academic documents, which the Electoral Commission denied. The judge held that the petition disclosed no cause of action because those complaints should have been raised with the Electoral Commission before polling, and made no order as to costs.
