Jinja court declares NUP's Prossy Happy Magoba winner of Jinja South West council seat, unseating Mariam Nalumansi

According to the Daily Monitor, Chief Magistrate Justine Ola ruled on an election petition by NUP candidate Prossy Happy Magoba, declaring her the winner of the Jinja South West seat on Jinja City Council and directing that she be sworn in. Magoba had told court she won 1,694 votes to 1,515 and alleged that the declared winner, Jinja City Deputy Mayor Mariam Nalumansi, presented forged declaration of results forms; the magistrate noted Nalumansi did not produce original forms. The ruling removes Nalumansi from office.
