Parliamentary land committee gives Jinja land office three months to clear transaction backlog

Parliament's Committee on Land, chaired by Ntoroko MP Edson Rugumayo, gave the Jinja Ministry Zonal Office three months to clear pending land transactions during a visit to the office, according to the Daily Monitor. Office officials told the committee that 12,748 transactions were registered there and that the office had 14 staff against an approved establishment of 25, along with equipment, internet and records problems.
