Local Government Minister Balaam Barugahara directed Jinja district Chief Administrative Officer Lilian Nakamatte to hand over office to her deputy during a special district council sitting, where the council speaker tabled a memorandum accusing her of abetting corruption and ignoring council resolutions. Nakamatte rejected the allegations. The minister asked the State House Anti-Corruption Unit and the Inspectorate of Government to investigate and report within two weeks.
