According to the Daily Monitor, Masaka City Woman MP-elect Justin Nameere filed her defence at the Masaka High Court in a petition by NUP's Rose Nalubowa challenging her declaration after a court-ordered vote recount. Nalubowa says the recount, which reversed the Electoral Commission's earlier declaration of her as winner of the 15 January 2026 election, was marred by irregularities; Nameere's lawyers say the recount was lawful and ask that the petition be dismissed with costs. No hearing date has been set.
