Masaka City Woman MP Justine Nameere withdraws five defence witnesses in election petition at Masaka High Court

In the petition by NUP candidate Rose Nalubowa challenging the recount that made State Minister Justine Nameere (NRM) the Masaka City Woman MP, Nameere's lawyers told Justice Bernard Namanya that she was withdrawing five of her seven witnesses, The Observer reported. An Electoral Commission legal officer testified that the commission had complied with the chief magistrate's recount order. The judge closed the defence case and directed closing submissions by 12 October.
