Masaka High Court dismisses Ssempijja's petition against Kalungu East MP Nkeretaanyi

The Masaka High Court dismissed former Defence Minister Vincent Ssempijja's petition against the election of NUP's Yusuf Kiruruuta Nkeretaanyi as Kalungu East MP, ruling that it was filed after the 30-day statutory period, according to the Daily Monitor. Justice Joyce Kavuma's ruling, read by the court registrar, ordered each side to bear its own costs. Ssempijja, the NRM candidate, had alleged widespread irregularities and sought a by-election.
