Masaka magistrate declares NRM's Nameere Masaka City Woman MP after court-ordered recount

Masaka Chief Magistrate Albert Asiimwe declared Justine Nameere (NRM) the winner of the Masaka City Woman MP seat after a three-day recount at the Electoral Commission offices in Kizungu, excluding stations whose ballot boxes were found unsealed or irregular. ChimpReports reports that the recount gave candidates 60,735 votes against 59,499 total votes on the original declaration form. NUP candidate Rose Nalubowa, who had withdrawn from the recount, said ballot boxes had been tampered with.
