Mukono court remands Mukono South MP aspirant Mubarak Sekikubo over alleged Shs38m job extortion

Nakisunga Sub-county Chairperson and independent Mukono South parliamentary aspirant Mubarak Sekikubo was charged at the Mukono Grade One Magistrate's Court and remanded to Kauga Prison until 4 November 2025, according to Nile Post. Prosecutors allege he and co-accused took Shs38 million from a job seeker on the promise of a medical officer post through the Mukono District Service Commission; Sekikubo denied the charge and said it was politically motivated, and his supporters protested outside the court. The State House Anti-Corruption Unit said the case followed a whistleblower complaint and that investigations continue.
