Mukono returning officer reverses LC5 chairperson result after NRM officials remove her from tally centre

According to the Daily Monitor, Mukono's district returning officer declared NUP's Johnson Muyanja Ssenyonga winner of the LC5 chairperson race, after which NRM officials led by district chairperson Hajj Haruna Ssemakula removed her from the tally centre and held a meeting with her lasting several hours. She later cancelled the first declaration and named NRM's Francis Lukooya Mukoome the winner; an unnamed NRM leader told the paper that ballot papers were marked for Lukooya and stuffed into a box during that meeting.
