NDA arrests seven, including health workers and an LC official, in Oyam over stolen government medicines

The National Drug Authority said it arrested seven suspects in Oyam District during a weekend operation, including health workers, a Local Council official, security guards at public health facilities and traders, over government medicines and supplies worth over Shs70 million allegedly diverted for illegal sale. NDA spokesperson Abiaz Rwamwiri said the search of a drug shop recovered drugs marked as government property, including ARVs and anti-malarials, and that the suspects are expected in court.
