The National Forestry Authority intercepted a truck carrying about 600 pieces of timber, valued at around 12 million Shillings, suspected to have been illegally cut from Bugoma central forest reserve in the Nyairongo area of Kikuube district, according to NFA sector manager Alex Obonyo. He said the truck was stopped between Bujaawe forest reserve and Kipapati trading centre after a tip-off, and the timber was taken to Hoima central police station pending investigations.
