According to The Observer, supporters of NUP candidate Ronald Evans Kanyike and NRM candidate Joanita Nalule fought when their campaign convoys met at Kidda trading centre junction; eyewitnesses said Kanyike was assaulted and his vehicle windows were shattered. Each side blamed the other, and the Masaka RDC said police had summoned both candidates and their teams to record statements.
Disputed: Kanyike says NRM teams left their designated ward and blocked his convoy, while Nalule says Kanyike's sound truck blocked the road and he pulled off her car's side mirror, provoking her supporters.
