NRM wins 80 of 97 parish chairperson seats in Mukono District elections

According to Mukono district returning officer George William Eliau, the NRM won 80 of the 97 parish chairperson positions, with independents taking 11, NUP five and DP two, in elections reported to have been orderly with no petitions filed. Some defeated candidates, including NUP's Dorah Nakaddu Lwembawo, alleged that voters were induced with money and called for investigations, The Observer reports.
