PFF councillor candidate reports assault and phone theft in Rukungiri Municipality

Dickson Nampumuza, a People's Front for Freedom (PFF) candidate for Western Division councillor, said he was beaten and had his phones taken by a group he identified as members of Gen (Rtd) Henry Tumukunde's campaign team while returning home from campaigning. He said he reported to police; Rukungiri District Police Commander SSP Brian Ampire said investigations had begun, and the Daily Monitor reports a case of simple robbery was registered at Rukungiri Central Police Station.
