Police arrest LC1 chairperson over destruction of Gen. Jim Muhwezi's campaign posters in Rukungiri

Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Maate said an LC1 chairperson of Omukibungo Village had been arrested on suspicion of ordering the removal and destruction of campaign posters belonging to Security Minister and NRM Rujumbura candidate Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi. According to police, the posters were torn down around 10pm on 7 January at Half London Trading Centre, after a rally there that evening. Police said they were looking for two more suspects.
