Police arrest presidential candidate John Katumba in Jinja city and force him out of town

After addressing supporters in Bugembe and Mailo Mbili, John Katumba was arrested in Jinja's central business area by police led by the Jinja city station in-charge, who said the Electoral Commission programme scheduled Katumba for Jinja on Friday. Katumba said he was looking for cheap hotel rooms for his team; police took him out of town across the Nile Bridge and told him to follow his schedule.
