Police block election violence victims protesting outside Masaka High Court

According to The Independent (URN), dozens of people describing themselves as victims of election violence gathered outside Masaka High Court with placards demanding justice as hearings began on NRM candidate Hellen Nakeeya's petition against the Kalungu Woman MP result. Police deployed anti-riot officers and barricades to keep the group out of the court premises; regional police spokesperson Twaha Kasirye said the gathering could interfere with court proceedings.
