Police raid hotel of NUP's Kyagulanyi in Lira City, arresting 15 campaign team members

Police raided the hotel where NUP presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi was staying in Lira City on Tuesday night and arrested 15 members of his campaign team, seven of whom were released the next morning, according to Kyagulanyi. North Kyoga regional police spokesperson Patrick Jimmy Okema said the operation followed an alleged attack by NUP supporters on a CID surveillance vehicle on the Lira–Alebtong highway, involving malicious damage and robbery. Kyagulanyi called the raid barbaric and said it was meant to intimidate his team.
